［Text］
At approximately 4:43 pm on August 8th, an earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale (preliminary estimate) occurred with its epicenter at Hyuga Sea.

The Japan Meteorological Agency has begun an investigation into the relationship between this earthquake and the Nankai Trough earthquake.
For this reason, an evaluation meeting regarding earthquakes along Nankai Trough will be held from 5:30 pm on the 8th.
If you live in an area expected to be affected by a Nankai Trough earthquake, please take steps to ensure your own safety according to your individual circumstances.

*The evaluation committee is working together with the Earthquake Disaster Prevention Strengthening Regional Assessment Committee, which covers the existing Tokai region.

【概要】
８月８日１６時４３分頃に発生した地震と南海トラフ地震との関連性についての調査を開始しました。南海トラフ地震で被害が想定される地域の方は、個々の状況に応じて、身の安全を守る行動を取ってください。

【本文】
８月８日１６時４３分頃に日向灘を震源とするマグニチュード６．９（速報値）の地震が発生しました。

気象庁では、今回発生した地震と南海トラフ地震との関連性についての調査を開始しました。このため、８日１７時３０分から南海トラフ沿いの地震に関する評価検討会を開催します。
南海トラフ地震で被害が想定される地域の方は、個々の状況に応じて、身の安全を守る行動を取ってください。

※評価検討会は、従来の東海地域を対象とした地震防災対策強化地域判定会と一体となって検討を行っています。
